How to pass your timetable data to ReadCloud for setup and onboarding

We'll need your timetable data to setup your users (students and teachers) and make sure everyone can access the right content.

At the start of the school year, during the setup of ReadCloud of your school, we'll need a copy of your school timetable data when it rolls. You can provide this data to us in a few ways:

  • Use an API or the Export to ReadCloud function in your timetabling software
  • Provide us with a manual JSON file or a CSV extract
  • Automate the upload of student data with the ReadCloud Integrator

You can send this timetable data to our Operations Team at opssupport@readcloud.com.

The ReadCloud Integrator makes it easy to give us up to date data so that any moves, adds or changes to students and teachers are captured and processed and content acess is provisioned.

Export to ReadCloud

A number of timetabling apps and software have an Export to ReadCloud function or an API enabled that allows secure and simple transmission of student data to ReadCloud.

These include:

Locate the Export data section of the software to create a file that you can provide to us.

Send us a JSON or CSV file

You can also manually send us an extract of your student data. This may be in the form of a JSON or CSV file that contains important information we need including:

  • School
  • Email
  • Role
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Year Level
  • Class Membership

An example CSV file is shown below.

Click the Export to CSV button in your timetabling software or application.

Automate with the ReadCloud Integrator

The ReadCloud Integrator (RCI) is Windows service that allows you to simplify the uploading and sending of student data. It provides thefollowing automated functions:

  • Local caching of ReadCloud RCS resources.
  • Uploading of Student Data files to ReadCloud

We've put together a step by step guide to install and use the RCI. You'll need to get in contact with us so that we activate and enable access to this for your school.
